Credit Recovery
Sci High offers many paths to success, and one of these pathways is Credit Recovery. Many students find themselves needing to recover one or two course credits to graduate. Students who have satisfied seat time requirements for a course in which they were unsuccessful may have learned a significant amount of what was expected of them. These students can use Credit Recovery as an opportunity to accelerate through the required course material to earn those final credits.
Other students are ill prepared for high school coursework or, through no fault of their own, have failed several classes. For these students, Credit Recovery offers one on one support, increasing their chances of success.
Students use Plato Courseware and progress at their own pace, taking as much — or as little — time as they need to master the material. Courses consist of integrated assessments, including unit-level diagnostics that allow students to move quickly over material they have previously mastered, and focus on the concepts that need additional work. Course-level assessments also include tests for each course module to ensure concept mastery, and direct instruction provides students with multiple representations of concepts along with a more structured environment.
